Daddy Day

October 18th, 2010
7 days old

One of the best parts of this whole experience is watching your husband become a daddy.  It is like falling in love with your spouse all over again.  It isn't that I had fallen out of love, just that there is a new dimension to my love for him.  Nick is such a great daddy.  He is so sweet and good with his baby boy.  It is a privledge to watch him with Nolan.

Unfortunately, as of tomorrow, Nick has to leave for a 3 day trip.  I knew that his leaving would be hard, but I thought it would just be hard to be on my own.  What is really hard is knowing how much it kills him to leave his baby.  He is so sad to leave.  I can't imagine leaving Nolan right now, and can't begin to know what it is like for Nick to leave.  It truly breaks my heart to watch his heart breaking.

We designated today daddy day.  Outside of feeding, daddy gets to spend every possible moment with his baby.  We even dressed Nolan in a special daddy outfit.  While it won't make leaving any easier, at least they are maximizing their time together.

Our day started at the pediatrician's office for a weight check

Not sure why the photo is upside down, but check out my cute outfit for daddy day.

It is so hard to say goodbye to daddy.  We all love each other so much!  We can't wait for him to come back home.
