5 days Old
When Nolan was 5 days old we took him downtown Minneapolis to the studio of Natalie Finazzo Fox. Natalie and I went to high school together, and she takes amazing photos. Our directions were to make sure that he was fed and to keep him awake for an hour before the shoot. We pretty much failed in all accounts. Nursing had not been going well at the time. He would always fall asleep while eating. Which brings us to failure number 2, he slept the entire car ride despite my best efforts. Our plan was to keep him up in the car and then to get there early and feed him in the parking lot so that he fell back asleep. Well, somehow we missed our exit and ended up not really being "early". When we showed up he was in a very, very deep sleep. We were afraid to wake him up and nurse him because we didn't really have enough time. It ended up not mattering. Natalie was great and got to work without waking him up. She kept the studio really warm and had a space heater on hand to keep him warm and cozy. Nolan did wake up about halfway through and so we took a time out to feed him and then got back to work with some family shots.
It was so fun to get these photos and see how much he has changed in such a short time. We are so glad that we had these pictures taken when we did. He changes so much so quickly.

We will be getting a CD with the images (totally work the extra 20 bucks), but these are what we have for now. The slideshow and the gallery really have the same photos, just displayed in different ways.
